Root Canal Treatment Austin

Repairing Natural Teeth & Eliminating the Pain

Root canal treatment is often considered a painful and worrisome procedure; however, this myth is one that Dr. Munis and countless other professionals persistently debunk. Instead, removing the infection that is deep within the pulp – the inner layer of a tooth – alleviates pain and prevents the possibility of tooth extraction. At Snow Dental, we have the technologies, techniques, and patient-focused approach to deliver long-lasting results that not only allow you to keep your natural tooth but also maintain a healthier smile. If you need help to address persistent tooth pain, call us to schedule an appointment.

What Happens During a Root Canal?

In most cases, a root canal is necessary to remove damaged or infected tissue found within a tooth, called the pulp. This includes a delicate nerve, and any pressure placed directly on it can create a toothache. After you’ve been numbed, a small window is made in the enamel, allowing the tissue and interior chambers to be cleaned out and disinfected. This should remove the source of the pain, and then the area is filled to provide internal structure. At a follow-up appointment, a crown is fitted on the tooth to ensure it remains strong and stable.
